I got involved in kids football coaching when my son started to play for his school team. I used to coach adults in the past, but coaching kids is a completely new experience and requires patience and a new set of skills. Coaching kids requires teaching the basics of football, and as a coach to never simply assume that the boys know what you expect them to know, even in their teenage years. The real joy for a coach comes when the team plays the way you want them to play and the players put the training into practice during the game.
I believe young kids at this age should master passing and playing as a team. This requires great vision of the game and understanding of others in the team. It only requires few players to play the way a coach wants and the entire team will adapt the same playing concept within a few weeks. I can confidently say that 2006 UTD plays an attractive passing football game in our league.
